Crisis information
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis that poses an immediate risk to the safety of yourself or others:
go to the nearest emergency room
or
call 911 and request paramedics to transport a person having a mental health crisis to the nearest emergency room
Please be aware that police officers may also respond to 911 calls.
You have the right to request that a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) trained officer respond.
Follow this link for NAMI's recommendations on calling 911 and talking with police.

Crisis hotlines provide someone to talk with through phone, text or online chat, and several of them now offer mobile crisis services where a professional will come to meet you where you are to provide in-person support.
Living room programs provide a safe, inviting, atmosphere where individuals can process a crisis event and receive supports designed to proactively divert crises from hospitalization where appropriate.
LGBTQIA2S+ identified folks and survivors of sexual assault or domestic violence are encouraged to utilize any of the services listed but may be better served by programs that specialize in working with the specific needs of those populations. -
